PostSubject: Pythona Revival   Mon 12 Dec 2016 - 13:15

Pythona by Brian Kauffman, on Flickr

With help from a couple different sources, I have managed to piece together a complete set of Parts for the Project ARAH Pythona. What you see here is the 1st pull from the set of molds I made. Based on the Records I have 44 people put up cash and are still due 51 Pythona figures. Unfortunately the records only have Screen names, no real names, no email addresses. I need your help in completing my information set.

My Intention: Make ARAH Pythona a reality for everybody who contributed: I plan to modify the head, so the Hair can be cast as a separate part as it would have been done on a Vintage Figure. Figures will be cast in proper base color, fully assembled with Custom Metal Rivets. For contributors, I will ask $20 to cover the cost of Materials, Postage, and my Time. I don't want any Money until I have figures ready to ship. I will make Pythonas available to people outside of the Initial Contributor's group, but obviously Contributors come 1st.

If you Know or believe you contributed, please send me a PM through this Forum.   The list I have is based on the forum names used here.
I will need your Full name, Mailing address, and an email address.

This is wild! Never would've thought this could happen. Hell, I'm even surprised my login still works on this ghost-ship of a forum. I'd love to get in on this project. I've still got admin access here, so I can match up some emails with user IDs, but I'm not sure what else. If you could post or send me a list of Contributors, I'll help figure them out.

Just remembered my password.

How do we go verifying we are on the list?

I just got here from the Facebook comments about this.

You are on the list. Please send me a PM with your Name, Email. and Mailing address

I wanted to avoid posting a list and risk having multiple people "Claim" a screen name that isn't theirs

All the money we sent way back when is gone, but Nova was able to dig up enough parts to piece together a figure. He just needs to cast them, and that costs him money. But it's pretty exciting to see one of the fabled "lost" figures come to life!

Totally understandable... that's part of why I won't collect any Money until I have figures, in hand, and ready to ship. Right now I want to make sure I have a correct list of who is owed what, and the best way to contact everybody.

I feel it wouldn't be fair If I were to end up with My copy of Pythona, when the rest of the guys who put in to make her possible didn't get theirs. My hope is that you'll feel that the upgrade to a fully assembled figure with Metal Rivets in the arms is worth the extra $20

Awesome. For those who haven't gotten one of Nova's casts, rest assured that the rivets are amazing. You can look up somewhere online to see the way he does them. These are rivets made to the *correct* size. The best deal I could find on proper rivets would have required having them done as a custom order. And the MOQ would instantly put me near $1k. And the installation is perfect. Not too tight and not floppy. This is a huge upgrade over the plastic parts we would have gotten in the actual club. Plus the base color looks great imo.

I think those wanting a refund are not alone. I wrote this off as a risk that didn't pay off a long time ago. But I still want a vintage style Pythona. So I am happy to see Nova offer this option, especially since none of this project was his burden to bear. So at least this will be a solution for some of us.

Honestly, even if the project had gone through and I had all my figures in hand, it would be totally worth the $20 to get a more solid start to the custom figure. But in that scenario, there would have been no reason to offer it for just $20.

Untitled by Brian Kauffman, on Flickr

Just posted an update in the Album on Facebook.

Right now I'm running parts so I can gang mold the Hair and Head so they're ready for mass production.

Still hoping to add some of the Original Contributors contact info...as I don't have emails or real names for everybody on the list. I'll be sending out an Email sometime in March.
